Folks, let's be real.

If you’re a pre-medical student preparing medical school applications or a medical student preparing residency applications, you likely:

  • have been dreading the application process without a clue where to start in writing your personal statement

  • feel as though writing is not your “strong” suit

  • lack the time or energy to focus on developing an excellent statement

  • are afraid of what you should (or shouldn’t) include in your essay

Meet The Creator of The Personal Statement Power Course

Dr. Lisa Whitty Bradley, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon

From the time that I began my journey in pursuit of a medical career, I have been weaving together different types of personal statements to reflect my inspiration, desires, history, and contributions to the world around me.

The personal statement, in its many Dr. Lisa Whitty Bradleyvariations, provides a grand opportunity to connect with the reader and potential future academic or professional job opportunities.

As a medical student, resident, fellow, and finally, an attending Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon, I have had the honor of reviewing hundreds of personal statements during the application cycle. I have found that a stellar professional essay can, and has, elevated an excellent candidate to the selected person for the position because of its ability to display another facet of their personality, commitment, and ability to connect with a broader audience, mainly those who would be served most, the patients.

Over the last 20 years, I have provided lectures, private consultations, and group mentoring events regarding professionalism and the creation of descriptive, unique, and engaging personal statements that have garnered coveted interviews and acceptance into desired training programs and professional positions as practicing physicians and other competitive fields in allied health.
